Tell Congress to Reauthorize the National Flood Insurance Program

A Call for Action from the National Association of REALTORS®

Dear MOMBR,

Homeowners across Michigan need your help to drive messages to Members of Congress urging them to support H.R. 2874, “The 21st Century Flood Reform Act."

H.R. 2874 reauthorizes the NFIP and makes a number of critical improvements to the NFIP including:

- increased funds for mitigation activities
- caps on overall premium increases
- improved claim and mapping processes
- removing hurdles for more private market participation

Reauthorization of the NFIP will help thousands of (State) homeowners, so it is critical Congress acts now. If Congress fails to take action to reauthorize the NFIP, it will expire by September 30, 2017.

As we all see the tragic impact and visual devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey, we are once again reminded of the extreme importance of a vital National Flood Insurance Program. With the program set to expire on September 30th, Congress needs to hear from you now. Please take action by clicking below to contact your member of Congress.

Take action now by participating in NAR’s National Call for Action to reauthorize the National Flood Insurance Program.
