Committees
Purpose: To review, propose, adopt, amend the MLS Rules and Regulations, and propose fees and fines subject to review and approval by the Board of Directors.
This committee is established to review and audit board finances.
This committee meets to establish community events that include advertising, donations throughout Mason, Oceana, and Manistee counties.
Some examples are: charities, organizations, habitat for humanity, resource centers, etc.…that we have extended a helping hand to.
The Professional Standards Committee operates under the procedures outlined in the Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual of the National Association of REALTORS® (as amended to conform with Michigan law by legal counsel of Michigan REALTORS®). This "Committee" is charged with enforcement of the Realtor Code of Ethics and hearing Arbitration Requests through professional standards hearings. It is assigned to listen to ethics complaints referred to the Grievance Committee and afford due process in all proceedings.
The Grievance Committee is responsible for investigating and making preliminary evaluations of ethics complaints and arbitration requests to determine if a Professional Standards tribunal hearing is warranted. The committee operates under procedures outlined in the Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual of the National Association of REALTORS®. The chair is selected at the time of need.
Purpose: To plan social and special events for the Association, including (but not limited to) the annual meeting, golf outing, Christmas Party etc., and to encourage involvement in these events.
The bylaws of the Association are updated as needed in accordance with the National Association of REALTORS®.
This committee provides members with educational events that encourage and assist them to understand and carry out their job more efficiently. By offering these educational events this helps members meet their needs for professional development and continuing education. Committee members help facilitate the growth and perception of the real estate profession and promote the importance of the REALTOR® Code of Ethics standards.
The purpose of this committee is to select a recipients for the MOM Board Scholarship Foundation that is awarded on a yearly basis to a student from each county who has applied through the foundation. This committee may meet at any time to discuss plans, concerns and ideas that may be beneficial to secure the success of students in our counties.
The West Michigan Regional Forms Committee is comprised of representatives from 7 local Associations – Battle Creek, Grand Rapids, Mason/Oceana/Manistee, Montcalm, West Central, Southwest and the West Michigan Lakeshore.
The purpose of the Committee is to review, evaluate, add to, or modify (as needed) the inventory of forms within our West Michigan Regional Library.
Purpose: To establish and maintain membership involvement in local, state, and national legislative issues, in addition to developing and implementing programs to meet local RPAC fundraising goals. This committee shall guard and promote the real estate industry's interests before all legislative bodies and perform other duties about legislation affecting real property and the Licensing Act.
To ensure the board is compliant in all it's duties to the membership and public including diversity, equity, and inclusion.
